Before Botswana, you will arrive in Johannesburg
to spend one restful evening after your long journey to Africa. After a night of rest in the tasteful elegance of The Saxon, you will continue your journey into Botswana.
DAY #2 - Okavango Delta, Botswana Kujwana Camp
Arrive today at Kujwana Camp within the Okavango Delta. Your journey begins with an introductory presentation and orientation ride aboard your hand-selected steed. Six Meru tents with en-suite bathrooms comprise Kujwana Camp, which is set along the Xudum River and surrounded by forests of ancient trees. Meals are cooked fresh, with an emphasis on vegetables and salads, and guests enjoy fresh bread baked each day.
DAY #3 - Okavango Delta, Botswana Kujwana Camp
Your Okavango horse safari begins in the Xudum and Baobab areas, exploring the remote western region of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, an astonishing maze of papyrus-lined waterways, meadows, and woodland rich in birdlife and game. On horseback, you are on equal terms with the game, cantering with herds of wildebeest and zebra and sharing grazing spots with nearby families of giraffe and elephant.

Continue your horseback adventures at Mokolwane Camp. Situated northwest of Kujwana on Matsebi River, Mokolwane’s five comfortable tree houses are lifted 10 feet above the ground to provide spectacular views across the waters. Surrounded by fig trees, jackalberrys, wild mangosteens, and ilala-palms, each lodge is charming in simplicity, with mosquito netted beds and en-suite bathrooms with showers, flush toilets, and hot and cold running water.
DAY #6 - Okavango Delta, Botswana Kujwana Camp
Throughout the horseback riding safari days, riders spend between four and six hours on horseback during the morning then spend the afternoons swimming, floating in a mokoro, walking, or on a traditional game drive. On the days that are spent riding all day, enjoy a picnic and siesta in the bush before riding back to camp for sundowners.
DAY #7 - Okavango Delta, Botswana Shinde
Conclude your Botswana adventures with three relaxing days at Shinde in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta.
