DAY #1 - Kafue, Zambia Shumba - Bush Camp
This exclusive Zambia Zimbabwe safari begins in the Kafue National Park, where a helicopter will ferry you over the grasslands to the tented comforts of Shumba Bush Camp. DAY #2 - Kafue, Zambia Shumba - Bush Camp
Meaning “lion”, Shumba is aptly named after the various lion pride territories that make their home in the area. The Busanga Plains provide some of the best lion viewing in Africa and many can often be seen roaming in and around camp. In fact, the permanent water sources surrounding Shumba Bush Camp mean both plains game and predators are drawn to the area each dry season, and amazing animal encounters are just a short drive from camp, when red lechwe, zebra, buffalo, puku, wild dog, lion, cheetah, and plentiful bird life can all be spotted. Seek out the wildlife day or night and observe the scene from the raised deck at camp.
DAY #3 - Kafue, Zambia Shumba - Bush Camp
Your stay also comes complete with a relaxing swimming pool and an endless view across the wildlife-saturated wetlands of Busanga Plains. Zambia is credited as the birthplace of the walking safari, and there is no better way to get up close to nature than with the guides of Shumba. Some of the most exclusive wildlife hot air ballooning also exists here and makes for quite the unforgettable birds-eye view.
DAY #4 - Victoria Falls, Zambia - Toka Leya
Next, your Zambia Zimbabwe safari allows you to spend a full day on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls with the Zambezi River always in view. Toka Leya’s riverside confines are a refuge to hippos, elephants, and vervet monkeys, all visible from the private decks of each en suite tent. Just 12 tents exist here, connected by elevated platforms that wind through the entire facility, limiting the impact on the indigenous plant life and landscape. Four-poster beds, billowing white curtains, earthy tones, and subtle African accents define the accommodations at Toka Leya. Each raised tent also features large en-suite stone bathrooms and interior climate control for a touch of comfort and exclusivity.
